Good lighting. I would have composed it more off center to the right. The snail is a little to centered for me. It would also be nice for the snail to be a little bigger and less of what it is sitting on.
I would crop as a 3×4 vertical on the middle 1/3 of the photo. As above, the snail would be larger and only the top 1/2 of what it is sitting on. I would like to show what I mean but there seems to be no way to paste an image here.
I like the lighting on this shot, and the subject is nicely contrasted against the background. I would suggest experimenting with different crops to lose some of the black background and change the placement of the subject. Also, it seems slightly underexposed.
